Downtown Cellular Tower Fire Lawrence, KS –
On Wednesday morning (10/23/24) at 2:17 a.m., Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical (LDCFM) resources were dispatched to a fire incident at a cellular tower in the downtown area. First arriving units identified a small fire approximately 130’ up the tower. Ladder 5 utilized the ladder to extend water to the fire location and extinguish the fire. The Lawrence Police Department (LKPD) provided a drone that assisted with visibility and access to evaluate the fire incident. A total of twenty-two (22) LDCFM personnel responded to this incident. No injuries have been reported.
