LDCFM Responds to a Structure Fire on 9th Street
Lawrence, KS – On October 3rd 2025, at approximately 10:20 AM, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical (LDCFM) units were dispatched to a structure fire at 219 E. 9th Street. Initial reports to the Douglas County Emergency Communications Center indicated that fire was coming out
from under the building – possibly the garage. At approximately 10:25 AM the first LDCFM fire apparatus arrived on scene and observed light
smoke and smoldering in the exterior siding of the building. Crews investigated and extinguished the fire and checked whether the fire had extended into other parts of the structure. No extension was found.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by LDCFM investigators.
