Rock Chalk Sports Talk

Brian with Aaron Miles after Aaron's first day as a Rock Chalk Sports Talk Co-host (5/24/10)

WHAT: "Rock Chalk Sports Talk" is in its 8th year of bringing Jayhawk listeners all over the world the most complete KU coverage around. Originated in 2002, the show has built a great following locally on 1320 KLWN and online at klwn.com. RCST is currently in the midst of its second season as a weekly show on the Jayhawk Radio Network. The program regularly boasts some of the biggest names in Big 12 sports as well as impressive national names as well, all while still keeping the focus almost exclusively on KU sports.

"RCST" not only has the best Jayhawk-related guests but is highly interactive with call-in segments, trivia games and more. Another strength is the show's hosts and their vast and diverse experience

WHO: 1320 KLWN Sports Director, Brian Hanni, is the show's creator and primary host. Hanni works for the Jayhawk Network as a broadcaster for KU women's basketball, and he is the Voice of the KU Baseball team as well as a senior writer for Jayhawk Illustrated magazine.

Brian has always assembled a sports talk team comprised of former KU athletes to help host the show, originally including former Jayhawk basketball players Brett Ballard and Alonzo Jamison. The program has evolved over the years and now offers its best starting lineup ever.

Jayhawk Network Football Analyst, David Lawrence, who also serves as pre and post-game host for KU Men's Basketball broadcasts, teams with Brian 2 times a week. David brings his impressive football expertise to the table as well as his versatility in covering all Kansas sports. Thanks to David's contributions, no other radio program in the state has the quality of Big 12 football analysis that RCST can boast.

Former KU Basketball All-American, Bud Stallworth, also co-hosts at least twice a week. In addition to his legendary career at Kansas, Bud played 5 seasons of NBA basketball and thus offers a great deal of basketball insight on both the collegiate and professional levels. As a former professional athlete, Bud's contacts in the professional ranks have allowed the show to land some Hall of Fame names from the MLB, NFL, and NBA as guests.

11-year NBA Veteran, Scot Pollard appears once a week on RCST. Scot is the Howard Stern of sports talk radio… you never know what he's going to say next! Scot puts his own unique spin on the KU sports scene and adds plenty of humor and color to the program in ways never before heard on KLWN or the Jayhawk Network.

"RCST" is produced daily by Ian Rombough who has been keeping the guys in line since the Summer of 2006. Ian has also produced several Jayhawk Radio Network game broadcasts. Ian brings a great deal of experience and skill to the program in making it sound as clean as possible.  And, if something goes wrong on the show, it's always Ian's fault.

WHEN: The show airs weekdays from 4-6:00pm in Lawrence on 1320 KLWN and one night a week on the Jayhawk Radio Network- The RCST Network show follows Bill Self's Hawk Talk show each Monday night at 7.
