As of Thursday morning, the Kansas Department of Transportation has reported several road closures in northeast Kansas as a result of flooding:
In Doniphan County, K-7 from north of White Cloud to the state line reduced to one open lane for both directions due to flood waters.
In Jackson and Atchison Counties, K-116 from the K-16 junction (east of Holton) to U.S. 59 junction over Elk Creek and Delaware River still closed due to flood waters over the roadway.
In Marshall County, K-9 over the Black Vermillion River, between mile markers 248-250, closed to all traffic due to flood waters over the roadway. Also in Marshall County, K-87 from the K-9 junction south to the village of Vilets, closed to all traffic due to flood waters over the roadway.
KDOT reminds drivers: DO NOT attempt to drive through flooded or high water on roadways. TURN AROUND. DON'T DON'T DROWN!
