Lawrence Area Traffic Advisory--UPDATE

A road resurfacing project has been rescheduled on a stretch of K-10 in Douglas County, impacting local traffic.  According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, the project is now set to begin Monday, May 13 at 7am.  It was previously scheduled to start Monday, May 6.

The resurfacing will be done to a 8.43-mile section of K-10 from the I-70/Kansas Turnpike Lecompton interchange, south to the U.S. 59 interchange in Lawrence.

As a result of the roadwork, KDOT says northbound and southbound K-10 traffice will be reduced to one lane for both directions, along with intermittent closures of adjacent cross roads during the process. Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via signage, cones and a pilot car and flagger operation. KDOT says drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes maximum.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of May, 2013, weather permitting.
