K-10 Crash Seriously Injures One

A Topeka man was transported to Stormont-Vail Hospital in serious condition after a three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning at K-10 and Clinton Parkway. According to Douglas County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Sgt. Steve Lewis, the crash happened shortly before 6am. A Chevy Silverado westbound on K-10 was struck by an eastbound Mitsubishi Eclipse. Authorities say the Eclipse was eastbound when it went left of center. One oncoming vehicle avoided hitting the Eclipse, but the Silverado behind that vehicle was not able to avoid a collision. The driver of the Silverado was trapped briefly and extricated before being taken to Stormont-Vail.

Investigators are still trying to determine all the contributing factors in the crash.
