In an effort to hold back on overtime pay and give city employees more time to be with family, Lawrence city officials say they will be moving trash service to the front half of this week to accommodate the Thanksgiving holiday.
According to the city's Public Works Department, residential customers in Lawrence who typically get their trash picked up on Thursdays will have an earlier pick-up day this week, depending on where they live.
Thursday customers who live north of 23rd Street/Clinton Parkway will have their trash picked up Tuesday, November 20. Thursday customers who live south of 23rd Street/Clinton Parkway will have their trash picked up Wednesday, November 21.
There will be no trash service in Lawrence Thursday or Friday. Regular collection schedules will resume next week.
