No doubt about it—you need heat during the winter months and if your heater goes, there can be real trouble. If you need an emergency repair, the city of Lawrence may be able to give you a loan of up to five thousand dollars to get it fixed. If you’ve got a mobile home, you can get up to 25-hundred dollars for an emergency fix….especially if there’s the potential for a health hazard or structural damage. But funding is only available to owner-occupied homes and you have to meet income eligibility guidelines. Applications are available in the city’s Development Services Office.
