As the holidays -- not to mention final exams -- roll around, many students appear to be celebrating by drinking illegally.

Another Fake ID Task Force deployment, another long list of offenders. In the most recent patrol of Lawrence bars and nightclubs, almost sixty people were ticketed for underage drinking. It's the fourth time this year that the Task Force has targeted bars in areas frequented by students. Bar owners are being warned about accepting fake I-Ds, too, because doing so jeopardizes their liquor licenses. SOme reportedly have even accepted IDs that were clearly labeled "For Novelty Use Only". Enforcement of legal drinking requirements will continue throughout the year as authorities say they want to keep up the pressure and get out the message: No under-age drinking in Lawrence.
