KU students could face identity theft

K-U is investigating a theft puts personal information about student housing residents at risk...

K-U police say two computers and a binder were stolen from a student housing office. Together, they contain significant personal information about some current and former student housing residents. That info includes birth dates, email addresses, university I-D numbers, even some Social Security numbers. The University says the information is contained in reports and computer files on current and former residents of K-U's Sunflower and Stouffer Apartment complexes. They've all been notified and urged to change passwords and other identifying information immediately.
