A court appearance is set for today for a Lawrence man who's charged with robbing a local bank...

The 25-year-old suspect was arrested after a foot chase following the robbery at Central National Bank on Ninth Street Wednesday. Witnesses say the man demanded money from a teller and left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. His timing, however, wasn't too good. Officers spotted him quickly and a brief foot chase ensued before the man was halted and arrested. The FBI has now entered the case since the bank was federally insured. Federal charges expected during today's initial court appearance in Lawrence.
