Private donors asked to pay out Gill's contract

Ousted K-U coach Turner Gill is in for a six million dollar pay off, but the majority of that money’s not coming from the school.

Private donors are being aked to pony up to pay off the coach’s contract. And it’s not the first time they’ve done it. 6 News says over the past three years, donors have come up with eleven million dollars to cover pay outs to former employees. That includes two million dollars that went to to former athletics director Lew Perkins. Gill is leaving after a two-year stretch in which the Jayhawks finished the season with a record of 2 and 10.
