Homosexual sex is a criminal offense in Kansas

A group fighting for the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people wants a Kansas law repealed.

The Kansas Equality Coalition says that homosexual sex is a criminal offense under Kansas law. That – even though the U-S Supreme Court ruled the law was unenforceable back in 2003. The coalition's chairman is Thomas Witt, and he tells the Lawrence Journal World that it needs to be eliminated, calling it an affront to thousands of law-abiding gay and lesbian Kansans. Governor Sam Brownback does have an agency to handle this kind of request- the Office of the Repealer was created back in January.
