Thanks to the slow economy, the engineering department at the University of Kansas is on the grow.
It’s a great time to be an engineer—so says Stuart Bell, the dean of engineering, on Kansan.com. The school of engineering has grown by 400 students over the past five years, and they’re expecting that same growth over the next five years…bringing the department from 15-hundred students in 2006, up to a projected 23-hundred by 20-16. The reason? Engineers on average make 57-thousand dollars for starting pay out of college. Also- the field is pretty stable, especially in these tough economic times.
