Bonnie & Clyde re-enactment set for tonight

There’s going to be a bank robbery tonight in downtown Lawrence. KLWN’s Jill Nado explains.

Actors with fake guns are going to be re-enacting the 1932 robbery of the First National Bank by Clyde Barrow.
…yep, Clyde of Bonnie and Clyde fame led the heist at the bank that used to be at 746 Masschusetts. It’s now a Tellers bank. The re-enactment is going to start at the Eldrige where they’re hosting a pre robbery cocktail party. The Actors will walk from The Eldridge to Teller’s, enter the building, give the crowd some laughs, grab the fake loot, get into a 1930s vehicle and make their escape. By today’s standards, Clyde Darrow and his gang got away with about 550 thousand dollars.
