25 Kansans honored by Kansas Historical Society

A new list of some of the most notable people ever from Kansas is out. KLWN’s Jill Nado has that story.

Vice President Charles Curtis, who served under FDR, Senator and Governor Arthur Capper—who established a foundation to help disabled kids, Native American chief Satanta, Doctor Karl Menninger- a world renowned psychiatrist who got his start in Topeka, and Charles Sheldon, the minister who coined the phrase what would Jesus do back in 1896. They’re the first five honorees of a list of twenty five Kansans being honored by the Kansas Historical Society and Governor Sam Brownback. The rest of the list is going to be released in just a few weeks.
