Millions of dollars headed to KU for research



The University of Kansas is coming in to some big money. KLWN’s Jill Nado has that story.

Six million dollars is going to the University’s medical center to conduct research on Alzheimer’s disease. It’s in the form of a five year from the National Institutes for health. While other researchers have been focused on the development of plaque on the brain and how that may trigger Alzheimers, the KU center has been conducting studies that have been unique in the field…looking into how metabolism and energy affects brain cells.
