2009 murder suspect goes to court today

The man accused of killing his estranged wife, her mother as well as his two daughters near Burlingame starts today. KLWN’s Jill Nado has more.

Prosecutors are pushing for the death penalty for 48-year-old James Kraig Kahler. He’s accused of committing the four killings in November 2009, one of which took place in front of his young son. Defense attorneys are expected to present evidence that may show he was having mental health issues and was asked to resign as water director in Columbia, Missouri less than three months before. Associated Press says the trial could last three weeks or more.
