A Lawrence man accused of beating two children with a belt is going to stand trial. KLWN’s Jill Nado has that story.

Police say the grandmother of the 12 year old and 14 year old boys called police, saying that thirty year old Stanley E. Burleson had been abusing them. When police interviewd Burleson, they say he told them he was disciplining them for disobeying him. Police accused him of striking each boy multiple times on two separate occasions and at one point standing over the older boy with his hand around his throat. The boys were hospitalized for their bruises and are now in protective care.
