Smallest Med School in US is in Kansas

It may not produce the biggest graduation party, but it should produce more medics. KLWN’s Jill Nado reports on what’s being billed as the  smallest med school in the U.S.

The University of Kansas has just eight students taking med classes starting today on a satellite campus in Salina, Kansas. The move comes as a response to a shortage of rural doctors in the United States. By getting students to learn in a rural area, the school hopes to create more doctors willing to work in a rural area. The American Academy of Family Physicians calls the program bold and innovative.
