KLWN Special Series: Lawrence Public Library

This month marks a significant event in Lawrence History, as reconstruction of the long-established Lawrence Public Library celebrates its Grand Opening July 26 with the people of Lawrence. In the days and weeks ahead, KLWN will present a special series of conversations devoted to the many perspectives of our community's library: its rich history, its current services and staff, and its bold vision for the future as it soon opens anew. Today we listen to the history of the library, dating back to the origins of Lawrence itself and progressing through the 19th, 20th, and 21st Centuries. Guests are Pattie Johnston, Outreach Coordinator for the library, and Steve Nowak, Executive Director of Watkins Museum.
